Gnuplot produces multiple legends, when using line handles for legend setting.

[~, l1, l2] = plotyy([1 2 3], [1 2 3], [1 2 3], [2 2 2]);
hold on;
l3 = plot([1 2 3], [3 2 1]);
leg(1).leg = {"l1", "l2"};
leg(2).leg = {"l3"};
legend location northwest;

This code produces single legend box with legends for three lines in QT. Same code with Gnuplot backend produces two legend boxes with three legends. One of the legends has other legends label displayed over it.
