Seems like this is just an interpretation difference about when a paused player should respond to commands.  It would be nice to know how Matlab handles this so I'm marking this as "Need Info".

I'm also lowering the priority since there is at least one workaround.

Thats only on a paused sound - resume resumes with paused settings

setting the sample rate and calling play on it, works with the new sample rate.

y=sin(2*pi* freq*values);

player = audioplayer(y, fs);

player.SampleRate = 10000;

# no change here

# change applied

What does matlab do ?

Consider the following code:

Object.SampleRate = Object.SampleRate + UserInput;

The expected result:
On decreasing the sampling rate, the high-end harmonics to be mirrored in the low-frequency range ( Women will sound like men ) and when increasing the sampling rate the object to process more data at a time ( Chipmunk karaoke effect )

The actual result:
The sampling rate change does not affect the output audio/sound of the player object.
