It looks like this behavior is a result of fixing Bug #50559, so that files can be dropped to the editor and opened. Can we please fix it so you can drag and drop text from within the editor (and still open files by drag and drop)?

If I select text in the editor and try to drag it to another location in the same window, the text will not be moved and there is a 'disallowed' icon that comes up will dragging. This worked in 4.2.1. It is effectively a 'cut and paste' operation when it works.

Maybe this is a 'feature' added since 4.2.1, and if so, then I'd like an option in the preferences to allow drag and drop of text within the editor.
