It solves the problem for me. Could you please test it and report whether there are any unexpected issues?

The problem seems to be in the repeated roots in the numerator
the following code would be a workaround until we get it fixed

 n=poly([  -2 -2.0001])
 d=[1 8 1 8 0]

roots(n)
roots(d)
ss1=tf(n,d)
ss1

 rlocus(ss1);

Confirmed here as well, updating bug description and tags, rlocus is part of the control package.
