Thanks a lot. That's it!

Sorry, I couldn't find that this is a known problem. I read "Known Issues with octave/mingw32 3.2.4" and hadn't found that.

A great filling when nothing hangs :-)

We assume you use the octave-3.2.4-MinGW binary, right?

If so, after starting Octave, do

  pkg unload oct2mat

followed by:

  pkg uninstall oct2mat

(the preferred option)
or

  pkg rebuild -noauto oct2mat

FYI this is a known problem.

I'm a novice user in Octave. When I'm plotting any (even simple) data I see the gnuplot.exe window which is not responding to system: I can't change the size or do anything, the cursor shows "system busy". The only thing I can do is to print "close". That helps. But what is even more annoying is that in most cases plot even doesn't appear. But when I type "close" it appears for a moment, and then closes. Very often when I draw one plot after another, the plot window is not updated (showing the previous plot).

All the same problems with every type of plot functions.

So shortly it is almost impossible to plot any date. It's always hangs and most of time doesn't show what I ask it to show.

I'm running Windows 7.
