I'm building Octave 3.3.51 for Mac OS X 10.5.8, but the build stalls eventually when unistd.h from gnulib gets included. I believe the reason for this is that REPLACE_FCHOWNAT is set by configure, even though HAVE_FCHOWNAT=0, so that _GL_CXXALIASWARN generates an error that 'fchownat' was not defined in this scope.
