Hi,

On the latest Debian, ftpfs hangs indefinitely if the network is down. This happens if the translator's accessed directly, for example by ls in the directory it is set on. Other ways to reproduce this bug are ls in the directory containing the node ftpfs is set on, trying a tab completion in bash in the same directory and setting ftpfs while the network is down.

I'm running Hurd on QEMU, using -net nic,model=rtl8139 -net user for networking. Perhaps ftpfs tries to do network I/O without any timeouts, causing it to hang waiting for the network to come up.

If there's anything I could test, do tell me.

Thanks,

Remco
