I am not aware of anybody using it.

Maybe it could be used for default settings.

But at the moment I doubt anybody will miss it.

I wonder if anyone actually uses this feature.  Maybe we should remove it.

What do people think?

The change file for 0.6.0 included

  • If a syntax file named named `rc' is found in a configuration directory (such as $HOME/.pspp), it is executed before any syntax file specified on the command line. The -r or --no-statrc command line option may be used to disable this behavior.

however, in the manual there is nothing about the use of the rc file.
