We need a way to provide text output in Multiboot example kernel when it's loaded in video mode (instead of just a line).
The gfxterm/font stack in GRUB can be used for this, but it should be arranged in a way that it doesn't have to be branched. I.e. by making it easy to copy a bunch of C files over that provide the basic "putchar" functionality.
