We've moved to GRUB 2 as a development platform.  Please can you check if this bug still applies there, and if it does, reopen it?

  I would like to be able to use grub on a disk that currently has
Ontrack disk something on it.  It is like easy drive, but instead it
makes a new partition table 63 sectors after the original partition
table.  The new partition table is the on that should be detected if
Ontrack is found.  There is some more information in this email:
