A very flexible one is the turing complete stack based output engine used by SUSE for their grub/lilo/syslinux menus. Since that implementation already exists for a lot of bootloaders, it might be worthwhile to integrate something compatible into grub2. |

Corresponding source code
We've moved to GRUB 2 as a development platform. GRUB 2 already has a very complete graphical framework, so implementing splashimage support on it wouldn't be too hard.
Nevertheless, there are no patches available and so I'm closing this bug.
