Unfortunately we do not currently have the resources to track down wishlist requests.  Please reopen this bug if you can provide a patch, or if you're willing to work on this feature.

Btw, GRUB 2 supports scripting which would make this easier to implement.

from 07:30 to 09:00 default 0
from 09:00 to 22:00 default 2
from 22:00 to 07:00 default 2
other time default 0
