Sun 17 Aug 2014 03:07:58 PM UTC, comment #6: I am having the same issue on Gentoo using GRUB 2.02~beta2. SOL works just fine in Linux but GRUB refuses to use the port. This is a fairly new machine with a new installation (2 months give or take) and it has never had an older GRUB version installed.

Wed 02 Apr 2014 08:01:47 PM UTC, comment #3: Can you please provide a commit id? As I stated earlier the only difference between the grub2 grub-core/term/serial.c in ubuntu trusty and mainline is 9afe2053c9b which doesn't look like it fixes this issue.

Wed 02 Apr 2014 06:27:28 AM UTC, comment #1: So I went ahead and installed grub in legacy, non-efi mode, and that works with the identical settings.

I was attempting to configure my AMT enabled intel nuc, and grub cannot find the Serial over lan port.

This is still an issue with grub2-2.04.
