Gorm creates them wrong.

Furthermore, I'd suggest that gorm files odler than a certain version (before the one where it will be fixed) should be "converted" on the fly by setting that property, also, when opeing it in gorm it should be correct, so opening/saving a file should update and fix it.

We also have the problem with all existing gorm files. Perhaps the decoder can insert a default left if the gorm+gui file is <= version x.y, where x.y is when it was fixed (which isn't yet, I reckon)

I changed this into a Gorm bug as the prototype for a popup button on the palatte there has centre alignment.

I have no idea how this could be changed as Gorm itself doesn't allow to change the alignement of popup button cells.

My fix for bug https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?35702 caused this...

Before that fix NSPopUpButton was hardcoded to always left-align the labels. Now it draws the label in the available space, and since it uses the standard -[NSCell _drawText:inFrame:] method, now -[NSCell alignment] should determine whether the text is left, center, or right aligned. I think this is correct, so check one of the popup buttons showing centered text and see if -alignment returns NSCenterTextAlignment.

Many (but apparently not all!) closed popup buttons show its current item text centered instead of left-aligned. This is wrong and inconsistent.

Examples can be found in many applications including Gorm's attribute inspector and palette, et al.

Strangely, I the popup buttons in the system preferences panels are correct.

perhaps it depends on how the element gets instantiated, perhaps certain gorm unarchiving?
