As the problem is on kernel side (non-support of 32-bit protocol) and request for exact patch wasn't answered, marking as invalid.

As for "deleted" entries, it's nothing against you: savannah was restored from backup. Browsing through RTAI website I couldn't find a diff for Linux. Could you paste URL to one?
linux16+initrd16 don't use 32-bit protocol.

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #31753 (project grub):

Your idea was correct, Vladimir. But the linux16 command isn't enough.
I resolved putting in grub.cfg linux16 and initrd16 both commands. Now, with
grub2 all the RTAI-patched kernels seem to boot without errors.
Are there other methods, according to your experience, to recover the 32-bit
booting protocol? Can we study a patch for grub2 (or RTAI, or both) to avoid
this issue?

Actually, to boot a kernel (vanilla or ubuntu) with RTAI, there are two
ways:

1) purge grub2 and revert to grub1

2) keep grub2 and modify grub.cfg according to above

Maybe sharing this with rtai community, we can fix all issues.

I don't know why my profile was deleted from savannah, and related subscription to grub group. And the bug #31753 was deleted too, and reassigned to another context. Why? Boh...

Hi.

According to my posts on rtai mailing list, grub2 doesn't work with "Low
Latency Desktop" option in kernel recompiling, after rtai-patch applied.
The realtime kernels freeze after grub2 selection: black screen and blinking
cursor.

Without rtai patch, kernel recompiling works with Low Latency option.

I've made several tests. If you want, I can send you procedures about.

Thanks

Paolo Rocca
