This bug was originally reported downstream in Ubuntu 9.10 here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/541670. A patch was supplied in that bug report.

The attached file works with upstream. This makes bug invalid (forwarding bugs is good but first check that upstream is both affected and not fixed)
