The attached file works with upstream. This makes bug invalid (forwarding bugs is good but first check that upstream is both affected and not fixed)

A quick code review confirms that a variation of the patch was applied. I'll have to wait for downstream release to retest.

If I remeber correctly this patch (or its cleaned up version) was already applied to bzr trunk. Please retest

This bug was originally reported downstream in Ubuntu 9.10 here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/541670.  A patch was supplied in that bug report.

A sample jpeg which reproduces the problem is attached.
