A fix has recently been made which restricts this bug to non-system images. In order to fully address this issue a "resource management" framework will need to be worked out. GJC

Named references are now used for system images. Non-system images are currently encoded. This is going to be fixed as well before I mark this as fixed. GJC

Gorm needs to be able to handle named references to images as well as directly encoded images.

This will require adding the resource manangement code.
