It was perhaps more a proof of concept, motivated by Lars' contributions in the maintainers ML (IIRC).

Actually it's a bit of a dirty hack; I'm sure there are binary Windows library functions that return the required info more gracefully.

Anyway, let's keep this open, some time someone will be inspired to make a better version and maybe even cross-platform.

The scope of this function is very similar to "memory" (see patch #9924).
I'm not sure if we should close this as a duplicate.

On the other hand, this function allows querying memory information for other running processes. Something that cannot be done with "memory". Maybe it could be considered for a package. The "windows" package would probably be most suitable because the function is OS specific.

Enjoy.

This function is easily extended to other stuff; e.g., the output of "systeminfo" (rather than "tasklist") can be parsed to get total RAM and RAM in use.
