Yes, I am closing this report as remaining issues with saving the dock widget's settings are related to other bugs.

Can this bug be closed?  It seems like the original issue has been fixed, but that there is an additional issue under bug #60646.

When you close the widget before quitting octave, the position should be restored at next start. When closing octave with open widgets, the widgets' settings are not saved in the settings file (see bug #60646).

Thanks. I tested with the doc widget and if, during a session, I open and close it multiple times the geometry is indeed restored. After quitting Octave though, the geometry is not restored at the next session.

Confirmed, when there is no main window, the floating widget size is not read from the settings file at widget setup. Patch will follow.

It is now possible to open individual GUI widgets from command line, but the widgets don't remember their previous geometry.

It would be great if settings were saved and restored, just like when running the whole GUI.
