Thanks for the testing, this fix will be part of the 1.4.1 bug fix release.

OK in Win10 and Octave 4.4.0 with the command

>> pkg install octave-signal-3cbff3de1ebc.tar.gz

installing directly from octave-forge using the command you mentioned fails:

>> pkg install -forge https://hg.mtmxr.com/octave-signal/archive/3cbff3de1ebc.tar.gz

OK in Win7 and Octave 4.4.0

>> pkg install octave-signal-3cbff3de1ebc.tar.gz

For information about changes from previous versions of the signal package, run 'news signal'.

I have written a fix for this build error, please test with revision 3cbff3de1ebc, available at

or by installing a test package with

Thanks. If I provide a patch or update the mercurial repo can you test whether the fix works for you?

The medfilt1 function compiles fine on GNU/Linux, seems to only be a problem on Windows.

It would be very helpful to have regular Windows testers for these kinds of issues in the future.

When trying to update the packages, errors occurred with the new signal 1.4.0 package. In the error report below, one can see that the io package was updated but that the signal package not.

I also tried to download the package (signal-1.4.0.tar.gz) and to install it locally, still without success.

This is on Windows 10.
