I don't see that there is an issue here.  A file with CRLF line endings opened in the GUI editor on a UNIX machine looks fine and runs fine.  Closing report.

Why aren't you using dos2unix at the command line?  If you are moving files between operating systems where the End-Of-Line character sequence is different it is the user's responsibility, generally, to convert the file.

Dos2unix is good to make matlab scripts work on Linux. Octave should do dos2unix
