Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.

However, you are using a version that is too old and not
supported anymore. Octave developers are no longer working on
that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes
for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of Octave you could receive bug
fixes and new functionality. Please feel free to reopen this bug
if the problem still occurs with a newer version of Octave.

When I click into the command history I get an error message.

(octave-gui:40043): CRITICAL **: 21:47:51.687: impl_GetText: assertion 'ATK_IS_TEXT (user_data)' failed

This message is repeated several times and then Octave crashes (it freezes).
My maschine is running ubuntu Mate 22.04 .
