Note that Dynare is not yet compatible with Octave 7. I’ve begun working on compatibility issues, but I’m not done yet. So the example will most likely crash for other reasons.

I'll try, but here the problem is that Octave shouldn't be exiting in this case.

There was work done in the last year that eliminated some crashes in destructors when Octave was exiting.

This command doesn't crash, and drops into Octave prompt.

But people in the Dynare bug report that on Ubuntu the original command also runs fine.

(I'm on FreeBSD with Qt as graphical backend.)

as an additional data point, does this work?

octave --eval 'dynare example3.mod' --persist

I am running Dynare as embedded command:

> octave --eval 'dynare example3.mod'

It opens two windows and then crashes in QApplication::~QApplication().

Is the above command valid? Is something missed in Dynare that causes application exit with open windows? Is this a bug in Octave that it allow application to exit when windows are open?
