Can't easily try it as there's not yet a snap package for the new version.

Can confirm (again) that mouse clicking in the command window causes pause to return immediately in version 5.2, but this is fixed in version 6.1.

I believe this is the same as bug #55854.

If you can't easily upgrade yet, you can avoid this bug by not clicking inside the command window.

Version 6.1 of Octave was just released making 5.2.0 deprecated and no longer supported.  Could you try the new version to see if this issue is still present?

I actually meant: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?55943

But both bugs are similar and were reported against Windows specifically.

I don't call it a duplicate since that bug says Windows specifically. Of course this could still be a duplicate and actually have the same underlying cause. That is however not something I would be able to determine myself. If you think it is a duplicate, feel free to close as such.

Specific details of this for me:

- octave version 5.2.0 (installed on Ubuntu 18.04 following official instructions, apparantly it installs as a snap package)

- the bug only happens when calling pause from the GUI (when I run 'pause' from a session started from bash terminal then it seems to work fine).
