Thank you for the report. The issue is fixed with changeset http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/f54cc65a487b in the stable branch.

Hello,

The error I am reporting is that the GUI is not saving an option even if it is correctly applied.

Details:

I downloaded the octave sources with mercurial, compiled and installed octave without any special setting.

When I mark 'Break long lines at line length' in

Edit -> Preferences... -> Editor (tab) -> Long lines (section)

it works as expected. However, If I access "Edit -> Preferences..." again, the option is not marked. If I press "Cancel" button the option works as it was marked,. If I press "OK", behavior is the one of unmarked.
