Thank you for your bug report, but the description you provide is very vague. As far as I can tell, everything you describe works for me. If you can attach a more detailed example showing the problem that isn't working for you, maybe you can help turn this into a useful bug report.

Just adding that the class directories (@-style folders) are not on the path (and are not supposed to be). Adding the class folder whose public method is called, to the path resolves the error but creates other errors due to shadowing of class methods with other functions so this is not an option.

I have classes defined in separate @-style folders. The classes each include public and private methods. In MATLAB the public methods of different classes see one another while this fails in Octave as of 5.2.0 version.
