You can just use -exec for cases where %p is sufficient:


-exec  sh -c 'blabla $1 dflkjh $2 xxxxx; shift 2; bloop $@"


For other cases I'm not convinced that the additional complexity is worthwhile.  Mail bug-findutils if you would like to make your case in more detail.

A possibility, to pass arguments like -printf to -exec would be very nice. Example:

find / -mount -size +100M -execf istat /dev/md0 %i
