Description:

A little place where I can play with version control techniques, makefiles, and other mundane software minutia. I use this project as a learning tool to familiarize myself with things like git, gcc compilation and linking, and automated building and testing. Anyone is welcome to join, so long as they share some subset of the goals named above. There's nothing very special about my sandbox project, unless one has some illogical fascination with exercises in self-help as they pertain to GNU software. That being said, I suppose it behoves one to have at least a passing interest in freely licensed software. I, for one, owe a debt of gratitude to various GNU projects, not the least of which is the GNU compiler collection, which I have used faithfully for nearly every project in my graduate work. I wonder how many more lines of text are required for project registration. I've already digressed quite a few times, but it seems that even this long-winded episode is too short. Perhaps a few more words about my childhood. That would be somewhat conceited, don't you think. I'm coming up on the 20th line here, but I suspect even this will not suffice. Just how much text is enough is something of a mystery to me just now. I think I'll mention C++ or perhaps C as the language of choice for this project.
