I have made the requested changes.  The updated package is available at http://ossguy.com/wdiff/wdiff-0.5.1.tar.gz.  Let me know if any additional changes are required.

Hi Denver,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

There seem to be a few issues with the files in your tarball.

Firstly, it seems as if some files contain a copyright notice, but no permission-to-copy notices. 'configure.in' and 'cbars.sh' are examples of such files.

You should definatly add permission-to-copy statements at the top of those files. Please see the GNU Maintainer manual for more information.

Also, the address of the FSF has changed, and is now:

51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA  02110-1301  USA

Please update your license notices.

Please update the copy of the license (usually, the 'COPYING' file) in your package as well.

Updated versions of the GPL, LGPL and GFDL can also be found at:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt

You can find some background and a possible migration script at https://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3766

To help us better keep track of your registration, please use the tracker's web interface following the link below. Do not reply directly, the registration process is not driven by e-mail, and we will not receive such replies.

Regards,

Stephan

Registration Administration

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific Group Administration page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

Registration Details

  • Name: wdiff
  • System Name:  wdiff
  • Type: Official GNU software
  • License: GNU General Public License V2 or later

Description:

The program wdiff is a front end to diff for comparing files on a word per word basis. A word is anything between whitespace. This is useful for comparing two texts in which a few words have been changed and for which paragraphs have been refilled. It works by creating two temporary files, one word per line, and then executes diff on these files. It collects the diff output and uses it to produce a nicer display of word differences between the original files.

Other Comments:

wdiff has been part of the GNU project for quite some time, but does not currently have an associated Savannah page.  As the new maintainer of wdiff, I would like to create a Savannah page to manage the project.
