Hi,

The GFDL needs to be a section of your book (not a file in the source package - it needs to appear in the final manual).

Please make this change before uploading your work at Savannah.

I approved your project!

You'll receive a confirmation mail shortly.

I got your mail with source code from August 22 (please use a more descriptive subject next time! ;))

I'm looking at it.

Ok, I'll review everything I have by now and make necessary adjustments. It may take two-three days, then I'll e-mail targz-ed archive to you.

Hi,

Please include a (perhaps temporary) URL pointing to the source code. Alternatively, you can forward the code to me by email or attach it to this tracker.

We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to catch potential legal issues early.

For example, to release your program properly under the GNU GPL you must include a copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every  copyrightable file, usually any file more than 10 lines long.  This is explained in http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.  Our review would help catch potential omissions such as these.

Regards.

Oh, you are waiting for me while I am waiting for you. Sorry, I've misunderstood you a little. Ok now. I still want to register this project and I've written more material during this summer. What should I do now?

Hi,

We are waiting for an answer from you.

If within one week we still do not get a reply, we will remove your project. You will still be able to register it again once you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah? If not, please tell us - we don't bite, and it will make us gain time :)

Regards.

Registration Details

  • Name: Free Computer Science Textbooks in Russi
  • System Name:  frecoster
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU Free Documentation License

Description:

The aim of the project is to create a possibility for migration of schools to GNU-based environment: GNU/Linux (or GNU/Hurd if it is possible). Though there are already enough free software to replace almost every non-free program in teaching process, there are no freely available textbooks both for teachers and for children. We'd like to write those books and make them available under GNU FDL or GNU SFDL.
To do so, we adhere official curriculum published by Ministry of Education of our country (Belarus) and use free docs (like Wikipedia ) and our own experience to write textbooks for different ages (forms). The language that we are going to write is Russian.
Currently we are working on the 1st textbook for children, writing it with the help of GNU/Emacs running on GNU/Linux and searching for the place to put the results of our work and to maintain the process of collaborative work. If it is necessary we can send you what is available by this moment.
