Hi Jan,

I am closing this registration request now. When you do have sufficient time to finish the process you are welcome to re-apply for hosting at Savannah.

Regards,

Stephan

Hi Jan Marques,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within one week I still do not get a reply, I will remove your project. You will still be able to register it again once you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah? If not, please tell us - we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Regards,

Stephan

Hi Jan Marques,

I have noticed a few problems while evaluating the sourcecode you submitted. These problems are described below.

First of all, in order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GNU GPL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every copyrightable file, usually any file more than 10 lines long.

In addition, if you haven't already, please include a copy of the plain text version of the GPL, available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt, into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

If some of your files cannot carry such notices (e.g. binary files), then you can add a README file in the same directory containing the copyright and license notices. Check http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html for further information.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.  To learn why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

Additionally, some of your files already carry the mentioned notices, but different ones, which are missing some information. I'd suggest you use the templates of copyright and permission-to-copy notices which you can find at the GPL FAQ page mentioned above.

Also, all .mod files seem not to carry correct permission-to-copy notices and also seem to mention the GPL v2 only. We would like you to correct this in the way mentioned above.

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.  Upon review, we will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

To help us better keep track of your registration, please use the tracker's web interface following the link below. Do not reply directly, the registration process is not driven by e-mail, and we will not receive such replies.

Regards,

Stephan

Some of the MODs are added indeed to their MODDB, tough, when making a small mistake, it takes at least 1 month to update them, and that's why I'd like to get them somewhere else :D

Hi Jan Marques,

I haven't had a closer look at these modifications yet, but have you contacted the phpBB developers about them? These modifications sound like improvements the phpBB developers could themselves be intersted in. Creating a seperate project containing modifications of another thing only doesn't make too much sense for me personally, that's why I'm raising this issue.

However, this does not mean that I'm rejecting hosting of these modifications here at Savannah. Please let me know about the outcome of your dialoge with the phpBB developers.

Regards,

Stephan
