In a polar plot, the horizontal axis is the azimuthal angle and the vertical axis is the radius. You can see a nice demonstration in Fig. B.1 of Balmaverde et al. 2022.
We can simply re-arrange the pixels of the image of a selected object into this coordinate system as a FITS image for any kind of analysis.
