I think I am the one who broke the permissions while I was trying to help.  But Karl's import was the good one.  Unfortunately I think I broke it before.  Sorry.  I fixed my permissions snafu.

Please try it again.  I think it should work now.

May you check better? I get a permission error on db/txn-current-lock
Permission denied, when trying to commit

I was pretty sure that an import on vcs would work, when it was working okay.  But the last 48 hours it has been throwing severe out of memory problems even though very little was consuming memory.  Something in kernel's memory state was broken.  Rebooting it seems to have gotten it back on track again.

svn history now imported (on vcs). went fine after the reboot, yay.

cvs shouldn't/can't be disabled because it remains the only way to deal with web pages (for http://gnustep-nonfsf.nongnu.org) on savannah, unfortunately.

The project is born with CVS. I noticed that SVN did not "enable" when I selected it. Also, I deselected CVS, but it did not disappear from the Menu. Might you remove it, so that it doesn't confuse users?

Which server did you try importing on?  vcs or vcs0?  vcs has more resources but was in terrible memory stress recently and this may have coincided with the import.

Regardless it should be possible to perform the import upon a different system with sufficient resources and then copy the result back.

The automatic hg repository setup also seems to be broken too.

Sadly, the import fails on the (woefully underpowered) server. It got to about rev10, and then:
"Out of memory - terminating application."

I am helpless to proceed in the face of insufficient hardware, afaik :(. Maybe Assaf or Bob will have an idea for how to work around ...

Sorry ...

in process, will let you know.

assaf/bob/anyone: it seems the automatic creation of svn repos when enabled in the web interface is not working. at least, gnustep-nonfsf had svn enabled, but no /srv/svn/gnustep-nonfsf on vcs ... i created it by hand [[AdminSvnImport]] ...
