I don't know if the system notified you of this, but I have uploaded an updated tarball using the site. I hope it is good now.

Thanks,
Jochem

Jochem, thanks.  If you could upload an updated tarball using freefont for me to have a quick look at, I will review and we should be good to go.

Best wishes

Hugh

Hey,

Sorry about that, I'm not very familiar with font licenses.

I have decided on gnu freefont as a replacement (https://www.gnu.org/software/freefont/index.html)

Is there anything else I should do?

Thanks for your help,
Jochem

hi jochem - thanks for trying, but an ofl font doesn't work either (as i said :), since savannah has to be gpl compatible, not just any free software license. sorry, but that's the situation.

look for a font that is gpl'd (gplv2-or-later or gplv3-or-later) or public domain ...

material hosted on savannah must be compatible with gplv3+ (or gfdl-1.3+ for documentation). it's not sufficent to be a free software license. ufl is clearly not compatible with the gpl. so, no go. (we don't allow the ofl either, for example.)

in cases where gpl-compatibility is questionable, -email is unavailable- is the final arbiter. but this case is not questionable.

best,
karl

Jochem, thanks for submitting.  The project looks fine, except for the below.

List: there is a font included in the tarball licensed under the "Ubuntu Font License."  I can't see that this is either covered on the FSF's commented list of licenses [1], or listed as license option on the Savannah project registration page.  The license does to my non-legal mind look like it might be acceptable, but I don't want to approve before checking what we should do in this situation - please advise.

Description:

Serpents is a simple game written in C with SDL2.  It is a lot like classic snake except that you have 3 snakes of different colors.  You start as the red snake and when you pick up food of a different color you become the snake of that color. The goal is to pick up as much food as possible to increase your score without colliding.  I think the best way to understand the game is to try it a few times from the attached tarball if you have time.

Right now the game is very basic, but I want to add highscores and maybe some sort of powerups later on.

The game isn't necessarily very special, but I haven't seen it before as a linux package and I think it could be a fun game to play if you have a little time to spare waiting for something.

Other Software Required:

SDL2: zlib license (https://www.libsdl.org/license.php) full site: https://www.libsdl.org/

SDL_ttf: zlib license, full site: https://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_ttf/
