Add more progressive states of accuracy: For example the user specifies the most accurate, number of points, then each time it is compared with 1/10th of that number and so on until a minimum number is reached. You don’t have to specify two random sets, only one set, but stop adding to one sum earlier.
This can boost up the speed as more outer pixels are considered.
