  • Name: EtherDogs
  • System Name:  etherdogs
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v3 or later

Description:

EtherDogs is a Sniffer network that supports TCP, UDP, ICMP, IP, IGMP, was programmed in ANSI C language using the BSD sockets native GNU/Linux OS, so do not have any dependency on other libraries and runs on any environment GNU / Linux.
Currently I'm using as Distro GNU/Linux Slackware 14.0 x86 to compile binaries however already tested it on Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora software and typically compiles with GNU/GCC Compiler 4.7.1 and also in other older versions. The process of debugging is being done with GNU/GDB 7.5.
The EtherDog after being run begins listening on the active interface and generates a log file named dogslog.txt which saves the details of captured packets and datagrams for later analysis of network traffic through the analysis of the log file containing the respective data packets captured.

Other Comments:

Required an ethernet network card
