Hello.

I think so.  I have approved this project (SeNTX) as a GNU/Linux user
group.  You will receive an auto-generated email containing detailed
information about the approval.

I have the impression you're conceptually lumping together SeNTX and
its projects (Semence, for instance).  At GNU Savannah we maintain a
clear distinction between developers (Individual or projects) and the
software/documentation they develop.  For instance, there is a project
for GNU Emacs, there is another for autoconf, there is another for
automake and so on; instead of a single "GNU" project.

Likewise, if you want (Now or later) to host Semence or another
software which SeNTX develop please submit a separate project.

I also ask you to take a look at the wording problem of the ISC
license: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#ISC.  Please
consider using a different license to avoid possible
misunderstandings.

Regards and welcome onboard.

Well we, SeNTX, need a space for discussion, we also develop some
software (semece is one of them, I put that tarball because the registration
form needed to have one), all under ISC License.

Since currently we are only on the need of a mailing list should I
describe us as a 'GuG'?, I mean, we don't need Savannah for any of our
software repositories...

Already read (but I read it now anyway)...

Ok, I was referring to a "Web Site Revision System".

Hello.

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in GNU Savannah.
You can reach the rest Savannah hackers (Staff) in this list:
http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/savannah-hackers-public.

You have provided a description of a free software users community;
I'm very glad to see more free software supporters in México.
However, you selected non-GNU software & documentation in the "Type"
field, sent a tarball named "semece-current" and provided "SeNTX" as
project name.  Do you meant to host semece as software, or provide a
space for SeNTX in GNU Savannah?.

Note that we host both GuGs and software/documentation, but as
separate projects.

Anyway, you might want to take a look at
https://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/HowToGetYourProjectApprovedQuickly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Content" is in our list of words to avoid or use with care.  There is
a note specific to "content management" in
http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/words-to-avoid.html:
  The term "content management" takes the prize for vacuity.
  "Content" means "some sort of information," and "management" in this
  context means "doing something with it." So a "content management
  system" is a system for doing something to some sort of
  information. Nearly all programs fit that description.
  In most cases, that term really refers to a system for updating
  pages on a web site. For that, we recommend the term "web site
  revision system" (WRS).
Registration Administration
While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific Group Administration page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):
Registration Details
  • Name: SeNTX
  • System Name:  sentx
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: Modified BSD License (ISC, Internet Systems Consortium License.)
Description:
SeNTX is a community of free software users on the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. We are an heterogeneus set of people that develops free software under several free platforms. We generally code on Shell (Bourne Shell), C, python or Perl, have done already our own CMS (Content Management System), now in production on http://sentx.net/, and also release some kind of general documentation about UNIX on spanish. We actually have hosted our git repositories here: http://git.sentx.net/
Other Software Required:
A lot of dependencies from the CPAN (for the Perl code), netcat (OpenBSD), wget, sh.
Other Comments:
We already are hosted under the umbrella of the University of Nuevo Leon (http://www.uanl.mx/) but they don't provide mailing list access, which currently are a need for us so we can communicate without using IRC.
