I don't remember where I found the link, but anyways you're right, I tried with another browser and http worked, so it's something in my FF configuration... Case closed, thanks for the help and sorry for the noise.

No problem with the site ownership confusion. Things are too complicated for anyone not actively working with the systems to know all of the details.

I don't know why you would be getting redirected from http://git.savannah.gnu.org/ to https.  I just tried it again just now and I am not seeing any redirection. I just checked the site configuration and I see no redirection anywhere in the configuration.

You might try this command in order to see the headers that are coming back from the server.

  $ wget -S -O/dev/null http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/coreutils.git/

To see what a redirection looks like use the sv alias.

  $ wget -S -O/dev/null http://git.sv.gnu.org/cgit/coreutils.git/

That will show that it is getting back a Location: header and following the redirection header.

However you are saying "linked bug report". That makes me think that the https was in the original link. Do you have an example? The problem is likely there.

Thanks for the comments, and sorry for confusing the sites ownership.

I tried http://git.savannah.gnu.org but got redirected to https://, so I thought I may have https everywhere plugin installed or something like that, but cannot find it in my FF plugins...

I was only trying to access the web UI coming from a link in a bug report.

Oh and as for git.savannah.gnu.org https isn't supported there. It will after the system eventually gets upgraded. But at the present time it isn't available there. If you are a member of any project then you can use ssh:// protocol for all access.

Hello. lists.gnu.org is one of the FSF systems not Savannah so nothing we can do about it here.  It was expired but was also fixed today. It is good again now so closing this ticket.

Am getting those errors:

lists.gnu.org uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 11/07/2016 17:02. The current time is 12/07/2016 13:58. Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE

I don't get exactly the same error for this other failing one:

https://git.savannah.gnu.org/

Is that pebkac ?

Why are those certificates not renewed before they expire ?

Why they are set to expire during holiday season ?

Thanks
