Yay!

I am going to go ahead and close this ticket at this point.  But please do let me know about status of the mail ticket with your ISP.  You can continue to log to the bug ticket even after it is closed.  It just takes it off my queue since there isn't more that I can do about it.

I fear there is some too-agressive anti-spam happening that is discarding Savannah email at your ISP.  Would like to see that resolved.  I am happy to look further and send test emails as needed to help debug that problem.

Hello again.

I'm sending this comment from my authenticated account :)

As I told you, I just sent a ticket to my ISP in order to understand this issue.

Thanks again for your support.

The MX servers from nerim.net are these famous frontend on which I am not admin. Nerim.net is my ISP and redirect my email to another one on my personal domain.

I have checked my personal MX and I have no connection from the Nerim MX out servers for the savannah mail.

I think there is an issue on my ISP MX :(

I can propose you two things :
 - Accept your manual activation proposal
 - Open a support ticket to my ISP in order to declare a problem on their servers.

I am going to temporarily insert myself as the man in the middle for
the password reset email.  This way you can set a new password on your
Savannah account.

We still need to figure out why the email is getting dropped in
between however.

Thanks for the update.  I am tracking through the password reset mail.  I see this in the logs.

2014-03-19 22:16:22 1WQOmc-0001GC-HM <= -email is unavailable- U=www-data P=local S=1550 id=20140319-221622.sv0.39673@savannah.nongnu.org
2014-03-19 22:16:24 1WQOmc-0001GC-HM => -email is unavailable- R=dnslookup T=remote_smtp H=tyrande.nerim.net [178.132.17.2]
2014-03-19 22:16:24 1WQOmc-0001GC-HM Completed

It appears that the message was delivered to tyrande.nerim.net successfully at 2014-03-19 22:16:24.  That is one of the three MX servers for nerim.net.

When I send a test message to myself it arrives at my servers from 140.186.70.70.  But conceivably it could also come from 140.186.70.71 too.

Since the mail seems to have been delivered can you check on tyrande and see where the message went to from there?

If we don't resolve this soon I can manually activate your account by relaying the reset email through me to you since you are receiving email from me directly okay.

After a private discussion with Bob by email, here are some additional datas in order to resolve my issue.

I am not the admin of the MX frontend which is supposed to receive the email but I am the admin of the MX server where the email is redirected to (My email address is actually an alias). I precise that this MX frontend is just a relay => no spam filter is applied.

On the MX server I manage and which receives the email, I never see any incoming email from the gnu.org domain.

Moreover, I don't receive any copy from this tracker for this current issue.

I just send another password recovery request on 19 mar 2014 23:15 CET in order to help you finding some things in the logs as Bob asked me.

Thanks again for your help

The email address registered for that account is the same as the one you included as the originator email -email is unavailable- and therefore the password reset should be going to you.

Please check your spam and junk folders.  It is possible that the message was diverted due to anti-spam.  The message will come from INVALID.NOREPLY@gnu.org.  If you don't find anything there please comment again.  I will dig further into it then.

Hello,

I created a savannah account few years ago. This account didn't have a lot of activity but I need it again for doing some administrations tasks on a project.

I used the "lost password" feature twice but I never received the mail for the password recovery.

Account : ptitoliv

Thanks for your help.
