Unfortunately this is not a bug.
We need to be compatible with SQL things and SQL things can't use the same id for GID and UID since they are in the same table !.

So, It's true that's this is very annoying, but we need to review all the code before be able to deal with this.
So perhaps for next release :/.

I've submitted this also a support request:

https://savannah.gnu.org/support/?func=detailitem&item_id=102408

but after some month of fiddling with, i think this is a bug.

I've 3 installation of phpgw, all uses LDAP for account, and could be that more have to come.
I'm also experimenting with samba with ldap backend, and with some other ldap-enabled application.

No one suppose that UID have to be different from GID, there's no one good reason to do so.

There's also no way to instruct samba to autocreate ldap account with uid not equal to some gid, apart forcing uid starting from 1000 and gid from 10000, eg.
A horrible setup for me.

Also, if someone just have a ldap setup and want to use phpgw, 99.99 out of 100 they cant, apart moving all UID or GID around by hand...

So i'm really sure that this is a bug, and also a big, bad bug.
I suppose that is not simple to alter all the code and tables, but have to be done if you want that phpgw will be used in serious ldap environment.
