Add a New Comment (Rich Markup)
This type of problem has just been discussed at https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-user/2023-01/msg00357.html the solution as far as Denemo is concerned would be to include transparent notes (perhaps grace notes?) in the staff to be kept alive.
The current implementation of ossia in Denemo uses a staff with controls to hide and show it. A side-effect is that any system belonging to any part which is all rests will be dropped. To work around this will require some research - perhaps there is some LilyPond syntax to keep a staff alive, or something could be added to a bar (? a non-printing grace note?) that would force LilyPond to typeset the system.
