Within a screen session, I did

screen make -kj28 {10000..19999}.task

and it behaved as if I had only passed the first sixty parameters.

REPRO: If you have a script t.sh

#!/bin/sh
echo $#
sleep 5

then 'screen ./t.sh {1..100}' displays 101 and pauses for five seconds, whilst 'screen screen ./t.sh {1..100}' displays 62
