Pressing Document->Update->All stops editing for about one minute (Ubuntu 64 bit, first observed in 1.99.15).
It is possible to scroll the document and menus appear.
After about one minute, the cursor appears again (in slow-motion from being a large cursor it becomes a normal cursor in the text, as if falling from "above the document" to "inside the document").
