How to reproduce:

1. Start Edwin: mit-scheme --quiet --interactive --eval "(edit 'console)"
2. Edwin seems to be detached from the terminal. Edwin remains attached if Edwin is instead started using: mit-scheme --interactive --eval "(edit 'console)"

MIT Scheme version: Release 9.2 || Microcode 15.3 || Runtime 15.7 || SF 4.41 || LIAR/x86-64 4.118 || Edwin 3.116

I am running Ubuntu 16.04.2.
