I can no longer reproduce it either.  So let's call this one done.

John, I was able to reproduce this back on May 8 (see comment 1) but trying again tonight it no longer seemed to work.  Can reproduce it?  There have been some small changes to the GUI in the meantime, although I don't think that any of them was intended to fix this problem.

My guess is that the extents of the sheet get out of sync with the GtkAdjustments.  Touching a scrollbar makes the contents appear again.

Confirmed.

Same thing happens when deleting a variable.

Cause is not obvious to me.  Adding a call to   gtk_widget_queue_draw (GTK_WIDGET (sheet_view));
in on_variable_inserted() in psppire-data-sheet.c does not help, although that function is getting called.

1. Open a dataset.
2. Switch to the Data View
3. Select Window|split
4. Switch to the Variable View
5. Add a new variable.
6. Switch back to the data view. All panes are blank until something is clicked.
