It works fine for me on Mint 13 with maxima. Can you provide more details on the versions you use or what specifically is failing? For instance
-Do you get any message on the terminal (I get "TeXmacs] Launching 'tm_maxima 5.24.0 gcl'")
-Can you run properly a python or maxima session within texmacs 1.0.7.19?

In TexMacs 1.0.7.19 compiled from source on Mint linux,
the script-input script-output executable forms is not working.
For example, choosing maxima from the list of executable folds
leads to the usual script input form, entering 3-2 in the form and hitting enter leads to an empty output. The same behavior occurs for the other plugins on my system

The executable folds work with version 1.0.7.18 on my system.
