Works fine for me (mouse selection as well). I suggest we close this. Thanks!

Thank you for the explanations, I was able to reproduce it.

Fixed in trunk. Ready for tests. :)

On one machine I still have a version dated jan 29 that doesn't have the bug, that's not too long ago. So I have bisected to find where in came in: the bug was introduced in rev 6211. http://svn.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc?view=rev&root=texmacs&revision=6211

Note that I found out that it was necessary to clear ~/.TeXmacs each time in order to have consistent results (an older "good" version might appear buggy otherwise).

Note also that I did the bisection testing as Miguel reported. (I cannot reproduce the mouse-select bug in -r6211).

The bad news is that changes in in r6211 were only style files. Style files are just like black magic for me, and I have no idea how to debug further.  Assigning it to you François, but since you cannot reproduce the bug...

If it can help, I join a backtrace at the crash.

I can reproduce the problem as described by Miguel (on ubuntu 12.04 64 bits). It even happens if you clear ~/.TeXmacs folder.

Moreover, I can provoque a title-related crash (the same?) without even applying the frame to the title: If I simply mouse-select the title, TeXmacs tries (and fails) to generate a font and crashes immediatly.

I cannot reproduce it. What are the details of the crash ? Could you try to clean the cache ?

  • Create a new buffer
  • Insert a title, e.g. using the button in the focus bar
  • select the title and try to apply any of the tags for "prominent piece of text": framed, both-lined, etc.
  • Dead.

Alternatively, one can insert first the tag, then try to paste inside it the doc-title. Very dead.
