Being Qt-specific, I reassigned this bug to Miguel. Qt probably intercepts all signals and probably also provides a way to report them to the application or ignore them.

Yes it still happens even when commenting the line. However, this only occurs with qt, not with x11.

Is this bug still present? I just checked and it surprises me: the only place where 'signal' is called is in texmacs.cpp:

if (!disable_error_recovery)
signal (SIGSEGV, clean_exit_on_segfault);

What happens if you comment this line out?
It would be strange to send SIGSEGV when logging out...

A similar problem is present with MacOS 10.8.

Under Ubuntu 12.10, if a texmacs windows is open and the user tries to log out, then it closes texmacs but the system stops to logout. One has to log out again.
It appears as if texmacs catch the logout signal but do not resend it to other applications.

The problem is the same when one tries to shut down the system.
