Fixed in commit ca39761
(http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/screen.git/commit/?id=ca397618071bc4e494f2810b9368c791c157942f)

Well, it's not quite find-as-you-type ... you press '/', then enter the search string. To search for the same string again, press 'n' (and 'N' to search in the reverse direction). Press '/' again to enter a new search string. Should be good enough, I think. Making it work for type-ahead should also be simple enough, to be honest. I will gladly accept a patch (instead of using INP_COOKED, you would need to use INP_EVERY, and then perhaps some checks from the glist_search callback).

I'd just like to add a plus one vote for this feature request.

well, i usually create window groups by using subscreen on another host, it's not just due screen limitation, but also access restrictions, i need to use screen elsewhere...

so, no... i attached my main screen windowlist, you maybe get better idea why i want to find windows by "find-as-you-type" feature :)

Aside from the actual feature request, you could possibly benefit from using window-groups. For example, you create a group for each host named to the hostname, and put the windows for the host inside that group. This would allow you to remove the hostnames from the window-names.

i have all my window titled by the hostname, so it would be very convinient to select from partial hostname list, especially if the window list is large and hostnames are duplicate!
