Do we really want this? There has been a more elaborate (and upward-compatible) proposal to use negative numbers for counting from the end (i.e. -1 would be the fore-last game, etc.). But this is incompatible with the patch that I implemented in the mean time to use index values -1 and -2 to indicate auto-increment of the index during a match, starting at 1 (per game or per two games, respectively). The value 0 is still available, though, and currently used synonymously for 1.

We should either decide that this is not worth having, and close the issue, or quickly implement it. I for myself have doubts that this is worth having.

A nice enhancement might be to define the comand line / Winboard.ini file switches

/loadPositionIndex=0
/loadGameIndex=0

to mean load the last game or position in the file.
